Managing large-scale infrastructure projects requires a paradigm shift from traditional methods to advanced visual modeling. In this article, we cover how CARTOTECH successfully implemented 4D BIM models for the latest high-speed transit corridor project.
The Clash of Schedules
In mega railway projects, structural coordination between bridge decks, signaling posts, and electrical wiring is extremely critical. Using 3D models only resolves spatial clashes, but 4D models (integrating time/schedule data) show construction sequencing conflicts before site execution starts.
By linking Primavera schedules directly to our BIM models, we were able to visualize structural transitions day-by-day. This proactive planning resulted in zero on-site sequence clashes and saved weeks of execution delays.
